Nashville’s oldest public house museum, Travellers Rest Plantation in Franklin, TN is an amazing venue with a historic background and beautiful scenery.
I had a wonderful opportunity to be a part of a styled wedding with several amazing vendors, each donating their time and services to make this an amazing and successful shoot. As for our models, we knew that we had to shoot a real couple. We knew we did not want professional models, because we wanted the authenticity and chemistry that only happens between two people who are madly in love. So, I owe a special thank you to Shelby and Aaron for donating time away from their small family to help us with this shoot. Their love is real and one many only hope to have one day.
An Intimate Engagement: Travellers Rest Plantation
The theme of the shoot was “An Intimate Engagement.” We wanted to focus on the love two people have for each other on a wedding, and not focus on the traditions that follow a traditional wedding. This meant a smaller cake, a single “couple’s table”, and complimentary colors which are associated with love. Lush greens, pastel pinks and gold.
One of our favorite locations at Travellers Rest Plantation was what we referred to as “The Secret Garden.” With hedges that rose above our heads, creating a wonderful gate to a field speckled with trees, and a path that led to a wonderful view of the historic home, this is the perfect area to say “I do.”
Thank you so much to these vendors who helped!
